Printed Design Materials for Non Profits & Social Enterprises

Our team of designers, illustrators, copywriters, photographers and fundraisers work with you to create unique and powerful annual reports, brochures, booklets and posters for your non profit organization. We design print pieces that captivate and motivate. We tell your stories and engage your audience. What can we design for you?

Non Profit Annual Report Designs

We designed several bilingual  reports for Environmental Commissioner of Ontario which included a custom cover photoshoot and illustrations. The report was digitally printed with local, chlorine free, 100% post-consumer waste fiber, biogas energy source FSC recycled paper.
We also included paper-free ePub versions for interactive online viewing on iPads and other tablets and mobile phones

Poster Design

The University of Toronto Book Store launched a new store section that focused on environmental books, school supplies and other products. The University had to cut down a century old walnut tree from their property but decided to make the best of it by using the lumber to build parts of the new store. This was the inspiration behind several of the pieces created. A new logo and branding was created as part of the new identity launch, as well as a preview poster made with environmentally friendly techniques by printing digitally on raw canvas and using natural materials – including tree branches to hang and support the poster.

Annual Report

Mothercraft is a leader in supporting healthy child development in Ontario. We designed their Annual Report celebrating their 80th anniversary and decided to celebrate their partners by profiling them and telling their stories. We invited each partner to participate in a spotlight photoshoot at the various Mothercraft locations around Toronto. We designed the report, art directed the photos and oversaw the printing.

Government Poster Design

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing hosts a week long event for students to educate them on their services. They wanted a poster design to display in local schools to promote their events. We worked with illustrator Jessica Gordon who hand created the wonderful custom illustration for us. Also featured on the poster is a QC Code so students could scan the code and go directly to the Web site that gives more information about the program.

Book Design

We designed a book for this workshop leader and up-and-coming author to help her share her messages of Girl Power to tweens in the UK. We created a book that is fresh, clean and direct. To spread the word about the book launch and workshops we also created a web site featuring downloadable chapters from the book.

Heritage Poster Design

The Flamborough Heritage Society needed a fundraiser to raise awareness and funds for the group so we created an informative poster to highlight the history and some key buildings of the area. Limited funds were available and the poster would be sold for only $10 so printing and design costs needed to be accounted for. Local businesses were asked to sponsor the poster printing and their logos would be included on the poster without interfering with the design and message.

Annual Report Design for Non Profit Education

Each year the Ontario College of Teachers develops a new theme for their Annual Report that represents how the College is passionate and involved in all aspects of the teaching profession and we develop a new design direction based on the theme. We traveled across the province to photograph teachers working with students. The reports are separated into French and English versions to save paper since the French run could be shorter. All reports are printed with vegetable based inks on 100% post-consumer uncoated paper.

eBook Design

Author Tom Bowes wrote a book of essays on finding your own courage and creating a sustainable future. We designed his book and created the EPUB version so it was ready to sell online as an ebook that could be read on iPads and other mobile readers.

Non Profit Book Design

We have been involved in a few projects since Mark Haak volunteered on a Rotary International group study exchange to Ethiopia and Uganda in 2007. While there he met with several other designers and artists to exchange cultural leanings. He learned about the many challenges facing communication in Africa and he spoke at an international Environmental conference with over 1200 attendees. Mark visited dozens of Rotary projects including AIDS hospitals, home building projects, clean water projects and even had an opportunity to help build a school for deaf and mentally challenged children. He posted a blog while he traveled and shared his stories and photos to thousands of viewers and when he returned we published a book to share the experience with others.

Fundraising Event Promotional Materials

A new event was in the works with all proceeds going to support the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). They needed a full identity to launch the event and they needed something exciting, fresh and, well, different. We created a new identity and sponsorship brochure to kick-start the event.
